The EH&S Specialist provides compliance assistance with all plant health safety and environmental programs.
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities.Conducting root cause failure analysis exercises to identify areas for improvement.Collaborating with Cleveland Cliffs utilities dispatch and contractors to ensure operational excellence.Maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.Prioritizing safety as a core value and fostering a culture of safety among staff.Implementing proactive maintenance programs to optimize resource utilization and enhance plant reliability.Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Motivating and developing staff through performance management and training initiatives.Coordinating shift personnel to ensure safe and efficient facility operation.Developing and implementing controls and processes to maintain regulatory compliance.Ability to problem-solve and provide solutions and ideas.Demonstrated ability to drive and support implementation of initatives.Ability to write operations and mainteneance procedures and develop diagnostic testing protocols.Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, eDNA (user), CMMS (Maximo), and Outlook software/programs.Ability to learn how to conduct root cause analysis and react accordingly.Understanding of dry scrubbers and baghouses.Familiarity with steam turbines, boilers, scrubbers, rotating equipment and processing systems in order to diagnose operational issues.Knowledge of operations and operating of power plant equipment.Broad background in all areas of power plant.Power plant background and experience with boilers, water plant filtration & RO's, cooling towers, boilers, steam turbine generators, and dry GFD systems.4-year engineering or technology degree or equivelant experience with an enphasis on power plant operations.Compensation: Competitive salary plus bonus potential
